The KCB-C Series Magnetic Drive Gear Pump is an externally meshing gear pump redesigned from the proven KCB and YCB series platforms, upgraded with a state-of-the-art magnetic drive assembly. It is specifically engineered for applications requiring the transport of clean, particle-free fluids with inherent lubricating properties—such as mechanical oils, turbine oils, fuel oils, and compatible organic solvents—at viscosities of 5 to 1500 cSt and standard operating temperatures up to 80°C (with high-temperature configurations available for elevated duty, consult factory). This lubricating-property requirement is fundamental to the pump’s internal bearing design and must be observed when selecting this pump.
The core innovation of the KCB-C lies in its magnetic coupling mechanism. The drive assembly consists of an inner and outer magnetic rotor, separated by a fully sealed containment shell (isolation sleeve). The inner magnetic rotor is mounted on the pump shaft and immersed in the process fluid, while the outer rotor is driven by the motor. Using modern magnetic principles, torque is transmitted across the isolation sleeve without any physical contact between the motor and the pump internals. This non-contact drive means the pump has only static seals and no dynamic seals whatsoever—fundamentally eliminating the running, overflowing, dripping, and leaking failures inherent in all mechanically sealed pump designs. The result is a truly leak-free pump, widely recognized as a protective and safety-critical product for handling flammable and hazardous petroleum fluids.
Features & Advantages
The KCB-C Series is constructed from a robust assembly of precision gears, shafts, casing, front and rear covers, support bracket, isolation sleeve, and a magnetic coupling unit. Wetted materials can be selected from gray iron, carbon steel, or stainless steel according to the specific process fluid’s chemical compatibility. The magnetic coupling uses samarium-cobalt (SmCo) rare-earth permanent magnets for a high-torque, reliable drive. (Note: This pump is not suitable for aqueous solutions, acids, alkalis, or other non-lubricating media, as internal components rely on the process fluid for lubrication.)
- Absolute Zero Leakage: The fully static-sealed design, with no dynamic seals of any kind, guarantees complete leak prevention. This makes it the optimal choice for handling flammable, explosive, toxic, or high-value lubricating oils and organic solvents where any leakage presents a fire, safety, or environmental hazard.
- Petroleum & Petrochemical Applications: Widely used in refineries, fuel systems, lubrication oil circuits, hydraulic systems, and organic solvent transfer in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries—wherever the fluid has sufficient lubricating properties.
- Self-Lubricated Internals: All internal rotating components are lubricated by the process fluid itself. This design demands that only fluids with adequate lubricity (viscosity ≥ 5 cSt and defined lubricating properties) are used, which in turn ensures long-term, maintenance-free internal bearing life.
- Compact & Reliable Structure: The simplified, compact design requires minimal routine maintenance. The non-contact magnetic drive eliminates mechanical wear on the drive side, delivering a long and stable service life with low vibration.
- High-Performance Magnetic Coupling: The rare-earth SmCo permanent magnets provide strong and reliable torque transmission, ensuring consistent pump performance even under demanding operating conditions.
